The Pink Rocks to Badayer Ridge Run is a 28 km moderate community drive across one of the Sharjah desert’s most visually distinctive landscapes. The route departs from the Pink Rocks — a cluster of weathered iron-oxide-stained sandstone formations near Sharjah’s southern perimeter — and tracks south-east across a combination of flat gravel desert and low dune crossings toward the elevated Badayer ridge. The Pink Rocks area is accessible on hard-pack track from the Sharjah-Al Dhaid road and requires no deflation for the initial transit. The mid-section of the drive crosses a series of low sand ridges averaging 6 to 10 metres that are negotiated with basic dune technique and momentum control. Tyre pressure is reduced to 22-24 PSI at the halfway point for the sand sections before reinflation at the Badayer ridge car park. The Badayer ridge section is a hard-pack gravel plateau offering wide panoramic views over the Sharjah and Dubai desert interiors. Total driving time is approximately 3 hours including the briefing and two stops. This is a relaxed, social drive suitable for families with appropriately equipped 4WD vehicles and for members completing their first desert run. November to March provides ideal conditions.
The AED 50 per-person fee covers full marshal-led convoy support, GPX routing, and on-trail recovery assistance. All participants receive a route debrief and access to the post-drive community report.
