Done Wadi Shawka about a dozen times and it remains one of my favourites. Starting from the Khorfakkan road end the first 15km is graded track suitable for any 4×4 with decent clearance. The interesting bits start at the plateau crossing. Posting this as a reference thread — add your tips below.

The descent into the wadi proper after the plateau is where beginners struggle most. Low range, first gear, feather the throttle and do not touch the brakes. It is slower and more controlled than people expect.

The rock pool halfway through is worth the stop every single time. Recommend doing the trail west-to-east for the best morning light. Full day with breaks and a swim.

Is Wadi Shawka doable in a stock Prado 150 on standard tyres? Asking for someone who just bought one and wants their first proper trail.

Yes, absolutely doable in a stock 150. The main trail is perfect for beginners. The side tracks are more technical but optional. Best first trail in the UAE in my opinion.
