MaxTrax vs Tred Pro — UAE heat and warping

Just had my MaxTrax warp slightly after leaving them on the roof in direct Dubai summer sun for a few weeks. Apparently a known issue with extreme heat exposure. Anyone had the same with Tred Pro? Thinking of switching. Also open to hearing about metal alternatives that work in these temperatures.

Tred Pros warped on a friend’s truck after a Dubai summer too. I think any plastic board will struggle with 70 degree plus roof temperatures. I switched to aluminium sand ladders — heavier but zero warping ever.

My MaxTrax have been on the roof for three UAE summers without warping. They are stored tray-side up in direct sun every day. Did yours have the black side facing up? Dark surfaces absorb significantly more heat.

Good point about aluminium. What brands are available locally or is it a custom fabrication job?

Rhino Recovery Boards are aluminium and available in UAE through 4×4 shops in Al Quoz area. Weight penalty is real though — about three times heavier than MaxTrax per board. Worth it for peace of mind.
